A surprisingly good addition to my library, I came into this game series not expecting much, as the graphics, and slots-like gameplay didnt appeal to me.
However, I decided on a whim to try it, and I found that this series as a whole is intriguing as a Dungeons and Dragons-esque game, replacing the dice with slots, but keeping the same sense of adventure and peril, as once you die, you lose your equipment.
That is one point that I was not a fan of, but it does guarantee a certain degree of difficulty, and challenge. Thought, rather than action, and careful planning considering the choices given to you.
That said, those choices usually end up relying on slots in the end, somewhat negating your carefully planned expedition, especially since if anything, be it your enemy, or you yourself get consecutive attacks, the damage (they) deal multiplies.
If youre into games that mainly relies on luck, with almost as much thought and planning, then why not give it a try?
